The Golden Designs Nora is a two person outdoor hybrid sauna. Hybrid means it has both a traditional stove and infrared heaters, so you can choose a hot steamy sauna or a gentler warm-up. It has a modern cube shape and a dark espresso exterior built for rain and sun. Inside, it is lined with Canadian red cedar. A clear glass door and a tall window let the light in. It takes up about 59 by 71 inches of patio space, so it fits a small yard.
Turn the switch to the Harvia 6 kW stove and the room reaches 170 to 185 degrees. Turn it to infrared and six heaters warm you at a lower temperature. Only one runs at a time. Inside you get color lighting, a control panel with FM radio and Bluetooth, speakers, and a sandglass timer, bucket, and scoop. It pairs a Harvia 6 kW traditional stove with six full spectrum infrared emitters: two carbon PureTech near-zero-EMF panels and four near-infrared elements. A main power switch selects the stove or the infrared heaters, never both at once. Golden Designs suggests infrared when the outdoor temperature is 45 F or warmer and the stove in any weather.
The page lists a single 240 V / 30 A service covering both the stove and the full spectrum heaters. The owner’s manual requires hardwiring by a certified licensed electrician using 90 C rated copper wire (no aluminum), with breaker and wire sizes set by your local code, and it rules out extension cords or receptacle adapters.
The interior is 55.4 x 53.4 in with 75 in of headroom, sized for two on the cedar benches, and the exterior footprint is 59.1 x 70.5 in at 87.8 in tall. A curtain-wall window and clear tempered glass door keep it from feeling closed in. Assembled weight is 925 lbs, so plan a level pad that carries that plus two bathers.
Stove mode is designed for 170-185 F with a 190 F ceiling; infrared mode runs at 118-132 F and should not go past 140 F per the manual. The manual also limits sessions to 40 minutes, asks for a cool-down between them, and calls for an hour off after four hours of continuous use.
Yes. The espresso all-weather exterior is designed to sit in rain and sun over a Canadian red cedar interior, and the stove side works at any outside temperature (infrared is the fair-weather mode). Expect the cedar to grey without a UV protectant and some seepage that dries in use. Never run the sauna during a storm.
A level surface rated for well over 1,000 lbs loaded: concrete slab, pavers, gravel, cinder blocks or a solid deck, with the cradles on blocks if it sits on soil. The manual says two adults can assemble this model with a Phillips or battery screwdriver; only the stove wiring needs a licensed electrician.
The sandglass, bucket and scoop are included, plus oversize chromotherapy lighting, a backrest accent light, built-in speakers and an LED control panel with FM radio and Bluetooth. I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
