The Golden Designs Visby is a three person outdoor hybrid sauna. Hybrid means it has both a traditional stove and infrared heaters, so you can choose a hot steamy sauna or a gentler warm-up. It is a modern cube with a dark espresso exterior. It is built for rain and sun, with Canadian red cedar inside. A clear glass door and a tall window let the light in. It takes up about 79 by 71 inches of patio space.
Turn the switch to the Harvia 8 kW stove and the room reaches 170 to 185 degrees. Turn it to infrared and nine heaters warm you at a lower temperature. Only one runs at a time. Inside you get color lighting, a control panel with FM radio and Bluetooth, speakers, and a sandglass timer, bucket, and scoop. A main power switch on the sauna selects one heat source: the Harvia 8 kW stove or the nine full spectrum emitters (two carbon PureTech near-zero-EMF panels plus seven near-infrared elements). They cannot run together. Set the knob to 0 and neither has power. Golden Designs recommends infrared at 45 F and above outdoors, the stove in any conditions.
The listing specifies 240 V / 40 A serving both the stove and the full spectrum heaters. Per the owner’s manual a certified licensed electrician must hardwire it with 90 C rated copper wire and size the breaker to local code; aluminum wire, extension cords and outlet adapters are prohibited. When mounting the stove, the power cord goes through the wall vent first.
The exterior is 79.2 x 70.5 in and 87.8 in tall; inside you have 75 x 53.4 in of floor with 75 in of headroom for three on the cedar benches. Assembled weight is 1,105 lbs, so the site needs a level slab, pavers, gravel, blocks or a solid deck able to carry that plus the bathers.
The stove side is designed for an ideal 170-185 F and can reach 190 F, which is also the ceiling the owner’s manual sets for traditional use. Infrared mode is meant for 118-132 F and must stay under 140 F. Sessions are limited to 40 minutes with a cool-down between, and the sauna should rest for an hour after four hours of use.
It has an espresso all-weather exterior over a Canadian red cedar interior, and the manual says outdoor models are designed to sit in rain and sun. A rain cover is recommended when it is idle, a UV protectant keeps the cedar from greying within a year or two, and light seepage between panels that dries in use is considered normal.
The manual does not give a time, but it calls for three adults for this model and only a Phillips or battery screwdriver. Pre-built panels are delivered curbside on a pallet; you screw the floor, walls, roof, benches and door together, apply the adhesive roofing paper, then have a licensed electrician wire the stove.

Buyer may cancel and return the goods to Manufacturer, subject to the terms and conditions oft his policy. Golden Designs reserves the right to refuse to refund any deposit or payment, or cancel any payment due, and any owing until such time as Manufacture a) is in receipt of the goods b) has inspected the goods and c) in the Manufactures discretion, has found the goods to be free of damage. All refunds will be provided within 5 business days once the product has been returned to the warehouse and inspected for damage
All returned goods must be in their original packaging. Seller may refuse to refund all or any portion of any payment, or cancel payment due and owing if the Buyer fails to fully comply with or violates the terms and conditions of this policy.
All cancelled orders and/or returned goods shall be subject to the following: a) storage fees and costs associated with routing the goods; b) handling and restocking fee of 20% of the total purchase for each sauna; c) all shipping costs to and from the Manufacture, and; d) a return merchandise authorization (RMA)number provided by Norse Steam. Buyer’s failure to obtain the RMA number shall result in Manufacture not accepting any returned shipment and Buyer paying all costs and fees. I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
