SaunaLife R3: an outdoor shower built like a barrel sauna
The SaunaLife R3 is an outdoor barrel shower kit for your backyard. It stands 90 inches tall, with full length wood boards held together by stainless steel bands, much like a barrel sauna. A 7 inch chrome rain head sits overhead, and a hand shower on a hose lets you rinse where you need to. Both run hot and cold when you connect your water lines. Allow room for an outside width of 53.2 inches. The wood is thermo spruce, which means spruce dried with heat in a kiln. It resists moisture and rot and can last up to twice as long as cedar.
Grooves in the floor guide water toward a drain beneath the removable shower mat. A matching wood box covers the outside pipe connections. FAQ
How do I connect the water?
You or your plumber bring hot and cold water lines to the thermo spruce plumbing box outside, which hides the pipes. SaunaLife's manual says to complete the plumbing and drain before the last assembly steps. The rain head and hand shower are inside.
Where does the water go?
Water follows grooves in the floor to the included drain kit under the removable shower mat. Connect it to a yard drain, gravel dry well, or sewer, depending on what local rules allow. Check those rules before choosing.
How big is it, and will it fit?
The SaunaLife R3 is 53.2 inches across and 89.8 inches tall outside, with an interior diameter of 49.6 inches. The opening is 35.4 inches wide by 69.5 inches tall, and the shower weighs 463 pounds. Measure your planned spot and access route against these dimensions.
How long does it take to build?
About one day with two people, according to SaunaLife. The kit includes the staves, stainless steel bands, foundation anchors, and fasteners.
Can it stay outside in winter?
Yes, the thermo spruce is made for outdoors, but winter preparation depends on whether your property gets freezing temperatures. Before a freeze, shut off the water supply, drain the lines, leave the valve open, and bring the hand shower indoors.
How is it delivered?
It ships by freight truck on a wooden pallet, with curbside delivery by appointment. The driver lowers the pallet to the ground and stops there, so have two or three people ready to carry the pieces in. Inspect the crate before signing and note any damage on the receipt.

A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
