Maya fire and water bowl: a rippled waterfall beside the flame
The Outdoor Plus Maya fire and water bowl with wave scupper is a square steel bowl with flames over lava rock. Its ribbed, wave-shaped scupper breaks the water into a rippling fall. USA-made in 24, 30, or 36 inches, it has a silver-toned rim and powder coating in many colors.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Light it with a match, or add electronic ignition and start it with a button. The pan, burner, wave scupper, hose, and lava rock are included; a key valve, propane tank pedestal, canvas cover, bullet burner upgrade, fire glass, and burner ornaments are optional. Prefer a smooth sheet? Try the standard powder-coated Maya bowl. The Maya fire and water bowl ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What is a wave scupper on the Maya?
A sculpted scupper mouth that shapes the water into a rippled, undulating curtain as it falls – not a flat sheet, not a round stream, but a moving wave pattern. On the Wave Scupper Maya the water itself becomes the ornament, catching light in ripples beneath the flame.
What finishes and sizes does the Wave Scupper Maya come in?
Powder coat in 15 colors – Black, White, Silver Vein, Java, Gray, Pewter, Copper Vein, Olive Green, Mist, Soft White, Onyx Black, Bronze Hammertone, Sapphire Blue, White Vein and Gold Vein – across 24-inch (OPT-24SQPCFWWV), 30-inch (OPT-30SQPCFWWV), and 36-inch (OPT-36SQPCFWWV) squared bowls. Each is factory-built for natural gas or liquid propane.
What equipment is included?
Fire pan and plate, burner, nipple, mounting bracket, NG or LP orifice, whistle-free hose, the wave scupper with its 3/4-inch inlet, and lava rock. Ignition is match lit or electronic, chosen at order, with optional key valve installation for gas control at the bowl.
Do fire and the wave both run off one control?
No – deliberately. The Wave Scupper Maya keeps gas and water on separate feeds and valves so the rippling curtain can run all day off the pool pump while the flame waits for evening, or both perform together. Independent control is standard across the series.
Where should this bowl be placed for best effect?
Where light hits the water – the wave pattern is the point, so mount the Maya on a wall facing your main seating or sightline, ideally with landscape or pool lighting behind the falling curtain. Among pool fire bowls it rewards deliberate placement more than most.
Is powder coat durable enough for constant splash?
Yes – powder coating is electrostatically applied and oven-cured into a hard skin, far tougher than wet paint against chlorinated splash and UV. The Wave Scupper Maya’s finish holds its color for years; rinse off mineral spotting occasionally and it stays looking new.
Who installs it, and when?
A pool contractor, ideally during construction – the wave scupper wants correct flow and a dead-level set to keep its pattern symmetrical, plus a licensed gas professional on the fuel connection. Retrofit is possible on existing pools with some deck opening for the two lines.
