Lexington Hearth Hayloft Beam bracket trim: a metal accent made only for the Hayloft mantel
The Lexington Hearth Hayloft Beam bracket trim is a decorative mantel accessory. It is a decorative metal strap in a hand forged look that wraps around the mantel. Lexington Hearth uses it to hide the seam where a two foot extension or a corner piece joins the mantel. You can also add one to a plain mantel just for the look. It fits only the Hayloft Beam mantel, because each Lexington Hearth beam has its own size, and the Hayloft face tapers.
It is trim only: the steel bracket that holds the mantel to the wall comes with the mantel. On the page you pick black or bronze, and a single bracket or a set of two. Extended layouts usually use two, one over the seam and one at the far end to match. Extensions and corner pieces are ordered through us, so ask with your wall width. Need the mantel too? FAQ
Does this trim fit only the Hayloft Beam mantel?
Yes. It is sized to the Hayloft Beam profile, which is 8 in. deep with a tapered face (5.375 in. tall at the wall, 4.75 in. at the front per the catalog), so it will not sit correctly on the squarer Rickhouse, Tobacco Barn, Grist Mill, or Flat Sawn profiles. Each of those has its own trim in the Lexington Hearth non-combustible mantel collection.
What is it used for?
Two things. In the Lexington Hearth catalog it conceals the seam where a 2 ft extension or corner piece joins the Hayloft mantel, which is how longer and wrap-around mantels are built. On a standard mantel it works as a purely decorative forge-style accent. It carries no load; the structural steel mounting bracket ships with the mantel itself.
What finishes are offered?
Black or Bronze, picked on the Color selector. Both are forge-inspired metal finishes intended to contrast with the hand-painted casting, and Lexington Hearth offers the same two on all of its bracket trims, so if you combine a mantel, extensions, and corners the metal can stay consistent across the whole run.
How many should I order?
Choose a single bracket or a set of two on the Quantity selector; the price difference is shown there. The catalog’s extended layouts place two brackets, one over the extension joint and one at the matching spot on the opposite end for symmetry. A single bracket suits a one-sided accent or a single corner joint.
Is the mantel or extension included?
No. You are buying the bracket trim only. The Hayloft Beam mantel is a separate listing on our site and includes its own mounting bracket, fasteners, and touch-up kit; the 2 ft extensions and corner pieces are ordered through us on request.
