Modern Flames Orion V2 Multi: a three sided fire for flat walls, corners, or bays
The Modern Flames Orion V2 Multi is a three sided linear electric fireplace built into a wall. It comes in five widths from 52 to 120 inches. Pick the size on the page. It is low and wide, and Multi means it can go in flat, in a corner, or in a bay, so the fire shows on two or three sides. Full size logs cut from real wood light up inside. The fire is a high definition video of real flames on a screen, so it looks the same whether you are standing or sitting. The V2 screen shows deeper blacks and brighter flames, and new flame styles arrive through the app. Built in speakers play crackling fire sounds or stream your music over Bluetooth. It is rated for a covered patio as well as indoors, out of rain and direct sun.
It needs no gas line and no chimney. Plug it into a wall outlet on its own circuit for 5,000 BTU, enough for a room of about 400 square feet. Have an electrician hardwire it for 10,000 BTU and a room of about 800 square feet. Run the flames with or without heat. It comes with a remote, and you can also run it from your phone with the Modern Flames app. In the box you get the real wood lit log set, the ember bed media, and the remote. Which layouts can the Orion V2 Multi be built into?
It is a clean-face, single-sided fireplace that the page says can be configured as a single-sided, left-corner, right-corner, or three-sided bay built-in, and the V2 catalog adds a wall-mount option finished with the Studio Suites mantel. For wall mounting, pick the Floating Mantel Set on the selector above, offered for the 52, 60, and 76 inch sizes, and its finish under Color.
How much heat does it produce, and what wiring does it need?
The installation manual rates it at 1,465 watts, or 5,000 BTU, on 120 volts, and 2,930 watts, or 10,000 BTU, when a qualified electrician hardwires it to 240 volts on a dedicated 20-amp two-pole breaker; the catalog puts that range at roughly 400 to 800 square feet. The catalog lists the Multi as hardwire ready, and the manual classifies the heater as supplemental.
Is it approved for outdoor use?
Yes. The linked installation manual states approved for indoor and outdoor use and includes an outdoor installation requirements section: a covered patio away from direct water and sunlight, with side protection at least 50 percent of the height measured from the bottom of the fireplace. The warranty statement notes that outdoor installation of a product not listed for outdoor use voids coverage, so keep to those rules.
What is new compared with the original Orion Multi?
According to the V2 catalog: a next-generation LCD with deeper blacks and adaptive brightness, 24 flame options with three flagship multi-dimensional styles and a fourth custom slot updated over the air through the Modern Flames + app, built-in speakers with Bluetooth streaming and three crackling soundscapes, and a real split-wood lit log set. The Multi keeps a deeper firebox than the Slim to hold that full-size log set.
What comes with it, and can I upgrade the logs?
Like the other Orion V2 models it ships with its log set, the ember bed media, and the remote, with suction cups for handling the front glass, and the catalog notes the Multi’s logs are lit. For a heavier real-timber look, the TruWood selector above offers the Premium Timber Kit matched to your size: the 52-60 inch kit for the 52 and 60, the 68-80 kit for the 76, and the 96-120 kit for the 100 and 120.
What are the unit and framing dimensions?
From the V2 catalog, the 60 inch model is 60 inches wide, 24-5/16 inches high, and 9-9/16 inches deep, with a rough opening of 59-1/2 by 24-3/4 inches for a three-sided bay or 59-1/8 inches wide fully recessed, and 9 inches minimum depth. What warranty and controls does it come with?
Control is by the touch panel on the unit, the included remote, or the Modern Flames + app over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, which also stores up to six flame experiences. The warranty statement linked in the Manuals tab gives 5 years when registered at modernflames.com, otherwise 2 years, with screens covered 1 year. A sauna turns your garden into a spa oasis. We debated it for a while, but after renovating our house, we pulled the trigger and bought a sauna from Norse Steam and Maya. We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Norse Steam, and specifically Maya, were extremely helpful as I was making the decision for our Sauna. I was able to get all of the necessary details to make a decision as construction was happening in my backyard to make space for it.
We absolutely love the CL7G. It is extremely comfortable for 6 people (can fit more less comfortably). The Thermory Spruce and Aspen in the interior smells great. The lighting is lovely. We paired the CL7G with the Harvia Spirit 10.5kw.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Sauna & Purchase Experience
Great experience purchasing Finnmark FD-2 from Norse Steam. Good communication and easy to assemble. Temperature increases quickly (30 minutes or less to 140) and maintains well. So far this has been a great purchase.

Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
