FAQ
What does Wide Spill mean on the metal Avalon?
The scupper mouth is broadened so water leaves the bowl as a wide, sheeting ribbon rather than a narrow stream – a small waterfall under the flame. On the Wide Spill Avalon the water becomes a surface that catches firelight, not just a line of it.
Which finishes and sizes can I order?
Hammered copper (OPT-24AVCPFWWS, OPT-30AVCPFWWS, OPT-36AVCPFWWS) and stainless steel (OPT-24AVSSFWWS series), plus powder coat in 15 colors – all in 24, 30, and 36-inch bowls. Copper will patina toward bronze over time; the other two finishes hold steady.
What is included with the Wide Spill Avalon?
Fire pan and plate, burner, the wide scupper with its 3/4-inch inlet, mounting bracket, NG or LP orifice, whistle-free hose, and standard lava rock – the polished rock in product photos is an optional upgrade. Match lit or CSA-certified low voltage electronic ignition is specified at order.
Does a wide sheet need stronger water flow?
Yes – an even ribbon across the full mouth takes more gallons per minute than a point stream, so the feed gets sized to the Avalon spec sheet. Underfed wide scuppers break into strands at the edges; correctly fed, the sheet falls whole and glassy.
Can fire and the wide spill perform at the same time?
That is the configuration it was drawn for – flame above, sheet below, each on its own supply and control so either also runs alone. On the copper Wide Spill Avalon especially, the flame reflecting down the falling sheet is the money shot.
How does this compare to the Twin Spill Avalon?
Same dish, different water personality: the Twin Spill pours two discrete streams, the Wide Spill pours one broad sheet. Twin reads formal and symmetrical; wide reads like a waterfall. Both share sizes and finishes with the whole Avalon family and the broader fire bowl line.
Who should handle installing the Wide Spill Avalon bowl?
A pool contractor – the Wide Spill Avalon needs a dead-level set so the sheet pours evenly, a flow-matched water feed, and a gas run finished by a licensed professional. All three are routine in a pool build; hand over the spec sheet early and it is a clean install.
