Avalon Fire Bowl in concrete: a tapered square fire bowl in 18 colors
The Outdoor Plus Avalon fire bowl in GFRC concrete is a square gas fire bowl whose sides taper gently toward the base. GFRC is concrete reinforced with glass fibers, so it has the look of solid stone at far less weight. Pick a 24, 30, or 36 inch bowl and one of 18 colors.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Light it with a match, or add electronic ignition and start it with a button. The fire pan, burner, mounting bracket, hose, fittings, and lava rock are included; a key valve, canvas cover, and fire glass are optional. Want copper or stainless instead? See the Avalon fire bowl in metal. The Avalon fire bowl ships free from My Cozy Outdoors with No Sales Tax (except WY) and the full manufacturer warranty.

FAQ
What exactly is GFRC on the Avalon Fire Bowl?
Glass fiber reinforced concrete: concrete cast with fine glass fibers running through it, giving the mass and texture of stone at a fraction of the weight. Two people can position an Avalon that solid poured concrete would need equipment to move, and it handles freeze-thaw cycles outdoors without complaint.
Which diameters does the Avalon fire bowl come in?
Three diameters, 24, 30, and 36-inch, under SKUs OPT-AVLFO24, OPT-AVLFO30, and OPT-AVLFO36. All share the wide-mouth profile the Avalon is known for, in GFRC finishes running from Ash and Limestone through Moss Stone and Natural Gray.
What ignition options does the Avalon offer?
Three tiers: classic Match Lit, Match Lit with Flame Sense (LC Certified, which cuts the gas if the flame goes out), and Low Voltage Electronic (CSA Certified) for switch-controlled lighting. You choose at order time, along with a Liquid Propane or Natural Gas build.
What parts come with it?
Fire pan and plate, burner, mounting bracket, NG or LP orifice, whistle-free hose, and lava rock: the entire working core of this concrete fire pit arrives with the Avalon, ready for your installer to plumb in.
Am I allowed a gas fire bowl in my backyard?
In most municipalities, yes. Gas features are commonly permitted where wood fires are restricted, because they make no smoke, sparks, or embers. The Avalon does need a proper gas connection, so a permit for the line may apply; one call to your building department settles it.
How much gas will it burn through?
Roughly comparable to a large gas grill running on high. A standard twenty-pound propane tank feeds a bowl the Avalon’s size for several hours at full flame, and dialing the burner down stretches that considerably. On natural gas you will see only a modest bump in the utility bill.
Can I set the Avalon on an outdoor rug?
Not directly. Even though GFRC insulates better than metal, the bowl base and radiant spill can scorch synthetic fibers. Keep the Avalon on pavers, concrete, or stone, and let the rug define your seating zone a few feet back from the flame.
