Avalon Fire and Water Bowl in Metal: a square bowl with a single clean spill in copper, stainless, or powder coat
The Outdoor Plus Avalon bowl is handmade in the USA with a square shape, rounded belly, central flames over lava rock, and one front scupper spilling a clean sheet of water. Choose 24, 30, or 36 inches in hammered copper, stainless steel, or 15 powder coat colors. Copper develops a blue-green patina outdoors.
Order it for natural gas or propane. Light it with a match, or add electronic ignition and start it with a button. The pan, burner, scupper, hose, and lava rock are included; a key valve, propane tank pedestal, canvas cover, bullet burner upgrade, fire glass, and burner ornaments are optional. Want 18 colors? FAQ
Which metal should I pick for the Avalon – copper, stainless, or powder coat?
By temperament: hammered copper (OPT-24AVCPFW series) ages into a bronze patina; stainless steel (OPT-24AVSSFW series) stays bright with zero upkeep; powder coat (OPT-24AVPCFW series) locks in one of 15 colors from Black to White. Same Avalon dish, three different lives.
What sizes does the metal Avalon come in?
24-inch, 30-inch, and 36-inch in every finish – matching the GFRC Avalon’s sizes exactly, which lets designers mix concrete and metal versions along one pool at consistent scale. Each is factory-built for liquid propane or natural gas.
What comes in the box, and is the pictured rock included?
Fire pan and plate, burner, mounting bracket, NG or LP orifice, whistle-free hose, scupper with 3/4-inch inlet, and lava rock – note the polished lava rock shown in photos is an upgrade; standard lava rock is what ships. Ignition is match lit or CSA-certified low voltage electronic.
How does the Avalon behave as a pool feature?
Classically – mounted on the bond beam, scupper pouring a single stream into the water, flame riding above. It is the archetypal pool fire bowl arrangement, and the metal Avalon’s reflective finishes double the firelight off both bowl and water.
Are fire and water independently switched?
Yes – separate gas and water systems with separate controls, so the Avalon runs spill-only with the pool pump, flame-only on winter nights, or both. Electronic-ignition units can hand both controls to pool automation for one-remote operation.
Will rain or pool splash cause problems?
No – every metal Avalon finish is built for uncovered poolside exposure. Rain is routine; just let the pan dry before lighting. Copper will patina faster with wetting (by design), stainless wants an occasional wipe, powder coat just gets rinsed.
Who is the right installer?
A pool contractor coordinating the anchor, the water feed, and the gas rough-in, with a licensed gas professional making the final connection. Tell them which Avalon size and fuel you ordered up front so line sizing and beam details are right the first time.
